How the Soap Spoon SR1 is Made
From building to boxing, here's what happens to each SR1.

Printing
SR1s are 3D printed in an enclosed chamber using high quality USA-made PCTG filament.

Hand Cleaning
Post-printing cleanup is physical removal of burrs, stringing, support posts, and other artifacts from the printing process.

Flame Polishing
A careful butane torch application provides surface smoothing and improves the translucency effect.

Wet Sanding
Multiple grit wet-sanding brings additional smoothing and greatly enhanced shine and translucency.

Polishing
Buffer wheels and two polishing compounds applied at at 1850 RPM give a final touch-up and glossy sheen.

Ultrasonic Cleaning
An ultrasonic bath removes oils and residual polishing compound. The SR1 is not directly touched after this step.

Boxing
The finished product is dried and packaged. The next hands that will touch the SR1 are yours.
